What Teal actually does
Teal bundles a resume builder, a job tracker, and a contacts tracker. In Teal's own words, you don't need to upgrade to "edit and export unlimited resumes in our Resume Builder, bookmark unlimited roles in your Job Tracker, and track unlimited networking details/connections in our Companies and Contacts Trackers." What the paid tier changes isn't access to those tools — it's how much of each one you get: the AI generation, the analysis, the templates and the design controls layered on top of them.
What's free forever, and what isn't
Teal's pricing table labels its free column "Free Forever," and the split between it and Teal+ is drawn feature by feature rather than as a blanket lock:
- Resumes, job tracking and contacts — free, with no cap stated. These are the rows Teal describes as not requiring an upgrade at all.
- AI generation — free users get 10 credits for resume bullets, 2 for professional summaries and 2 for cover letters. Teal calls these "non-renewable." Teal+ makes all three unlimited.
- Job Matching keywords — free users "see the top five keywords surfaced from the Job Description"; upgrading "provides you with the full list of keywords." Teal notes some job descriptions have fewer than five high-priority keywords to surface in the first place.
- Analysis Mode — free users have "access to basic issues"; Teal+ gives "a full view of basic and advanced issues."
- Resume templates — 10 on free, "Unlimited Templates" on Teal+.
- Email templates per job stage — 1 on free, unlimited on Teal+.
- Design Mode — "Basic Settings" on free, "Advanced Settings" on Teal+.
The non-renewable wording on the AI credits is the detail worth pausing on. They aren't a monthly allowance that refills — they're a fixed number attached to the account.
The three Teal+ plans
The pricing page prints its own per-day equivalent under each plan:
- $13, every 7 days — Teal's own figure: "($1.85 a day)".
- $29, every 30 days — "($0.96 a day)".
- $79, every 90 days — "($0.87 a day)".
Those are Teal's numbers, not ours, and they make the trade-off plain: the shortest commitment carries the highest daily cost. The page adds "No credit card required to start" and "Upgrade or downgrade your plan or cancel at any time."
Refunds and cancellation
Cancelling and getting money back are two separate actions: "Cancelling your subscription does not automatically trigger a refund." A refund has to be requested by contacting Teal at membersupport@tealhq.com, and Teal is explicit that "submitting a refund request does not guarantee that a refund will be issued." The eligibility windows run from the start of the billing period — 2 calendar days on the Weekly Plan, 7 on the Monthly Plan, and 14 on the Quarterly Plan. Cancellation itself takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and Teal states plainly that it "cannot be held responsible for recurring subscriptions if a member fails to cancel their account."
Who it fits, and who it doesn't
Teal suits someone who wants the organizational side of a job search — tracking roles, contacts and versions of a resume — without paying for it, and who treats the AI writing as an occasional assist rather than the main event. It fits less well if AI generation is the reason you're there: 10 bullet credits and 2 each for summaries and cover letters don't renew, so a heavy user reaches the paywall quickly and the real question becomes whether $29 every 30 days is worth unlimited generation. It's also a weaker fit if you want heavy document polish specifically: the resume builder itself is free, but unlimited AI generation, the advanced Analysis Mode issues, the full keyword list and the advanced Design Mode settings all sit behind Teal+.
