Jawaharlal Nehru University has released the JNU 2020 eligibility criteria for admissions in its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The eligibility criteria of JNU 2020 states the minimum eligibility needed by a candidate to apply for a particular subject.

Jawaharlal Nehru University can conduct JNUEE in collaboration with NTA (National Testing Agency) as a part of the admission to the varied undergraduate and Postgraduate programs offered by the university.

JNU 2020 Eligibility Criteria:

JNU Eligibility Criteria for M.A. in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Hindi, Korean, Linguistics, Persian, Russian, Spanish and Urdu:

For English and Linguistics: Candidates should have an undergraduate degree in any discipline beneath 10+2+3 education pattern with a minimum of 50 % marks in combination.

For German: Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline beneath10+2+3 education pattern securing a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate with adequate proficiency in German.

For languages apart from English, Linguistics, and German: Candidates ought to have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline beneath 10+2+3 education pattern securing a minimum of 45 % marks aggregate with adequate proficiency within the language program concerned.

JNU 2020 Eligibility Criteria for M.A. in Economics, Geography, History, Political Science, Sociology, Philosophy, and Development & Labour Studies:

For Geography and Sociology: Candidates ought to have completed their bachelor’s degree in any discipline beneath 10+2+3 academic pattern securing a minimum of 45 % marks in aggregate of all subjects.

For Economics: Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline securing a minimum of 50 % marks aggregate, with knowledge of Arithmetic at 10+2 level.

For Political Science: Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline beneath 10+2+3 education pattern securing a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate of Social Sciences subjects and a minimum of 55 % marks aggregate of Science & Technology subjects.

For History and Development & Labour Studies: Candidates got to have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline beneath 10+2+3 education pattern securing a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate of the subjects.

For Philosophy: Candidates should have a degree beneath 10+2+3 pattern of education minimum 50 % marks in Social Sciences and Humanities. Candidates from the Science & Technology disciplines ought to have a minimum of 55 % marks.

JNU Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc in Life Sciences:

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree either B.Sc. /B.Tech or Equivalent in Biological/ Physical/ Agricultural Sciences or Biotechnology stream from any state or central recognized Institute/ University.

Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 55 % marks in aggregate of all subjects.

JNU 2020 Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc in Environmental Sciences:

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in any branch of Basic or Applied Sciences beneath 10+2+3 education pattern from school/ Institute/ University as recognized at the state or national level.

Candidates ought to have secured a minimum of 55 % marks in aggregate of subjects of qualifying degree examination.

JNU Eligibility for MCA (Masters in Computer Applications):

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline beneath 10+2+3 education patterns from any state or nationally recognized Institute or university.

Candidates should be competent adequately with a minimum of 55 % marks at graduation level aggregate of all subjects.

JNU 2020 Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc in Physics:

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree with Physics as one of the topics in any discipline beneath 10+2+3 education pattern securing a minimum of 55 %marks in aggregate.

Candidates who have a qualified Bachelor’s Degree either in Physics, Chemistry and arithmetic combined or in Physics Honours or with B.Tech in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical/Computer are eligible.

JNU Eligibility Criteria for M.A. in Arts and Aesthetics:

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline beneath a 10+2+3 academic pattern.

Candidates ought to have obtained a minimum of 50 % marks to be eligible for admissions.

JNU 2020 Eligibility Criteria for M.A. in Sanskrit:

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Sanskritic language or in any subject beneath a 10+2+3 education pattern from any recognized Institute or University.

Candidates ought to have a minimum of 45 % marks for admissions to M.A in Sanskrit.
