What Huntr actually does
Huntr describes itself as "an AI-powered resume builder and resume tailoring tool," and pairs that with a Kanban-style job board that tracks "every application, deadline, and follow-up." Its Job Clipper extension saves job postings to Huntr with one click, and "the job description and keywords are captured automatically." A browser extension also fills in application forms with a single click. Built-in metrics and a contacts tracker sit alongside the job board.
The AI side is a set of separate tools: an achievement writer that rewrites or tailors experience bullets, a resume tailor that matches a resume to a pasted job description, an AI resume review, a skills tool that pulls skills from job descriptions, a cover letter generator, interview question generation, and follow-up email templates.
What the free plan includes, and where it stops
Huntr calls its free plan "Always free, no hidden costs." The limits are set feature by feature:
- Resumes — unlimited base resumes, free PDF export, and access to all resume templates. Huntr's feature section puts the template count at 7.
- Tailoring — 2 job-tailored resumes and 2 application packets, per the pricing page. Huntr's Plan Types article lists the same feature as "Limited Job Tailored Resumes," without a number.
- AI credits — "a small number of complimentary AI credits." Huntr doesn't publish the number. Once they're used, you'll see a message that a Pro subscription is necessary to keep using AI features.
- Job tracking — up to 100 jobs, with basic job insights, the Job Clipper and a map view.
- Matching and scoring — basic resume job matching and basic resume scoring. The Keyword Finder, which identifies job-specific keywords in job descriptions — hard skills, soft skills, knowledge, industry and education — is included in all plans.
- Everything else — unlimited contact management, unlimited application autofills, up to 100 document uploads, and no ads.
Your account's Usage panel shows the amount of generations, jobs, contacts and documents you have — Huntr says it's particularly useful for free-plan users tracking their limits.
What Pro adds
Pro is "Everything in Free Plan, plus":
- Unlimited AI — unlimited AI credits, which Huntr says cover "resume summaries, cover letters and any other features involving AI content generation."
- Unlimited tailoring — unlimited job-tailored resumes and application packets, and unlimited AI resume tailoring, which the pricing page describes as a "Full tailored resume rewrite."
- Unlimited AI resume reviews and unlimited AI cover letters.
- Advanced job matching — "Full keyword visibility. Responsibility + qualification matching. AI keyword and sentence integration."
- Advanced resume scoring — "Spellcheck. Outcomes + Metrics."
- Job tracker — unlimited job tracking, advanced job insights, advanced job search metrics, and unlimited document uploads.
The free plan already has matching, scoring and job insights — Pro swaps the basic versions for advanced ones. The pricing page lists "Full keyword visibility" under both Advanced Job Matching and Advanced Job Insights.
Pricing
- Monthly — $40 per month.
- Quarterly — $90 every 3 months, which the pricing page displays as $30/month.
- Biannual — $160 every 6 months, displayed as $26.66/month.
Huntr says all three "include the same features, but the quarterly and biannual plans offer a discount for paying upfront." Billing is in advance, on the same day every 1, 3 or 6 months. To change billing cycle, Huntr says to reach out to support via chat or email. To move from monthly to a longer plan, Huntr says you can cancel, finish out the month you've paid for, then follow the prompt to upgrade.
Cancelling, refunds and your data
Cancelling is self-serve, from Plan & Usage in Personal Account Settings — Huntr says you "DO NOT need to contact support to cancel." Pro stays active until the end of the current billing period, and then the account is downgraded to the free plan. Huntr says your data remains intact and accessible after cancelling, including resumes, cover letters and job postings; what you lose is Pro features like saving over 100 jobs or generating AI content. Separately, you can download your data as a ZIP file of CSVs covering job, activity, profile and contacts data.
Getting money back is a separate step: "Canceling does not automatically trigger a refund" — you have to ask support. Huntr's Refund Policy says decisions are "based on a few key factors, including your usage, time spent on the platform, and the benefits you've received." Minimal use in the first few days "may make you eligible for a refund, but this is not guaranteed," and an account showing "signs of high engagement or value gained from the service (regardless of timeframe)" may not qualify. Huntr also says it "will not be able to refund more than 2 invoices within a subscription period."
Who it fits, and who it doesn't
Huntr suits someone who wants a resume builder and a job tracker in the same place, and who will get most of their use from the parts the free plan covers well: unlimited base resumes, contacts and application autofills, and up to 100 tracked jobs. It fits less well if AI writing is the main reason you're there. Huntr's pricing page says there's no Pro trial, the free plan's AI credits are a small, unpublished number, and only 2 job-tailored resumes are included — beyond that, the AI features need Pro at $40 a month, or less per month on a longer plan. It's also a weaker fit if you want a refund policy you can plan around: Huntr's Refund Policy says refunds are based on usage and not guaranteed, and its help articles describe refunds differently from one another.
